Men & hats, women & dresses; a question from the good ol' days?

From the 20's to the 40's the depiction of life was unlike anything it is today,which brings us to our question; men wore hats and women wore dresses, a ''chiefly'' not to be broken.

As upper classes progresses, it seems like we are losing our morals, traditions, and sound manners with it!! I think it is very sad that in only a fifty year span things could variation so differently in our world and society.
